I identify as both a grief tender and a joy seeker, committed to living an embodied life. I’m a licensed marriage & family therapist in private practice in California, founder of TwoCan Retreats, and the Santa Barbara Regional Director for the Waves of Grief Collective™. I support individuals, couples, and families through major life transitions, trauma, grief, and loss—helping them cultivate embodiment, mindfulness, self-compassion, and deeper connection with nature and meaning.
My specialties include divorce, co-parenting, trauma, grief, and loss. With more than 25 years of experience in public, nonprofit, and private mental health settings, I have served in clinical, supervisory, and advocacy roles with marginalized communities. I opened my practice in 2005, later becoming a certified divorce mediator and Collaborative Divorce Coach, with a strong focus on high-conflict co-parenting.
In recent years, my work has evolved to include mindfulness and self-compassion, end-of-life care, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. I’m an end-of-life doula, a member of the NHPCO End-of-Life Doula Council, and a volunteer with Dying in Grace. My studies with teachers such as Francis Weller have deepened my understanding of grief as both teacher and companion.
Nature, movement, community, and creativity are central to my own healing. Some of my most meaningful work includes co-facilitating transformational retreats in Costa Rica with my husband through TwoCan Retreats, and leading community Waves of Grief™ circles in Santa Barbara. As a mother, stepmother, grandmother, and longtime advocate for children and families, I believe deeply in the power of compassion, community, and connection to create a more loving world.
