Shelah Marie

Women’s Empowerment Coach, Author & Founder of Curvy Curly Conscious Movement

Shelah Marie is the founder of Curvy, Curly, Conscious (CCC), a movement and community dedicated to self-love, self-acceptance, and empowerment for women of color. She draws on her background in performance — including a Master’s degree in Performance Studies from Tisch School of the Arts — to combine storytelling, emotional insight, and embodied presence into her work.

Since 2016, Shelah has led what she calls “Unruly Retreats,” bringing together Black women for community, healing, celebration, and transformation through movement, meditation, wellness practices, and honest conversation. As an author and creator, she invites women to “unfix, unperform, unpretend,” embrace their full selves, and reclaim their narratives — shifting away from societal pressures and toward authenticity, self-love, and collective support.

Shelah’s work spans retreats, online community building, events, and speaking engagements. Through Curvy, Curly, Conscious and its associated initiatives, she offers safe, celebratory, and transformative spaces for women to heal, connect, and rise together.
