Patricia Chica is an award-winning Canadian-Salvadorian film and television director, writer, producer, and acting coach whose career spans more than two decades. Her work is recognized for bold, emotionally resonant storytelling and visually striking, character-driven films and series.
Born in El Salvador and raised in Montreal, Patricia studied film production at Concordia University (graduating cum laude) before going on to co-found her own production company, Flirt Films. Over her career she has produced and directed dozens of shorts, documentaries, and series — for major networks including National Geographic, Discovery Channel, CBC, CBS, and more.
Her debut feature film, Montréal Girls, released in 2022, marked a major milestone: after years of short films and documentaries, she stepped into full-length narrative cinema — and received significant acclaim, including awards for Best Canadian Debut Feature and widespread festival recognition.
Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, Patricia draws on her multicultural background to create stories that explore identity, social issues, human complexity, and cultural intersections. Her creative voice is often infused with psychological insight, poetic visuals, and a commitment to authenticity and emotional truth.
As a seasoned acting coach — trained in the “Chi Energy” acting method — she brings a holistic, body-conscious approach to her direction and coaching, helping actors deliver raw, honest performances. She divides her time between Montréal and Los Angeles, balancing international film work with mentoring, producing, and writing.
