Neil Markey

Co-Founder & CEO of Beckley Foundation

Neil Markey is the Co-Founder and CEO of Beckley Retreats, an organization dedicated to supporting wellbeing through science-backed programs grounded in mindfulness and contemplative practice. A former U.S. Army Ranger Captain, Neil completed combat deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. After his service, he earned an MBA and MIA at Columbia University, during which he faced PTSD and depression—an experience that sparked his deep exploration of holistic healing and mind-body practices.

Neil holds a teacher’s certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from Jefferson University and has taught meditation to professional athletes, special forces, and corporate leaders. Earlier in his career, he worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Co., where he co-led their internal mindfulness initiative, and later served as Chief Growth Officer for a large private-equity firm. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, focusing on integrative health. Guided by his own healing journey, Neil is committed to building a mission-driven organization rooted in integrity, equity, and meaningful transformation.
